In the run up to the Olympics a Surbiton hockey player has decided to take part in a physical challenge every month for the next year.
Clarissa Goodwin, 23, who plays in the starting XI for the club in Sugden Road, will be testing her limits as she takes on a variety of challenges, including swimming, dancing, abseiling and cycling to raise money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Blogging her way through the challenges, Clarissa, who lives in North London, wanted to do something in memory of her father, Norvon, who passed away in 2007 after having a stroke.
The fitness enthusiast credits him with inspiring her and making her fanatical about sport.
Next up for Clarissa is The Blue Mile on Sunday, September 4, which is being held to mark the 50th anniversary of the wildlife and environmental charity WWF. Participants will have the option to swim, kayak or stand up paddle board for a mile.
