Local children will have the opportunity to attend an event with the hugely popular children’s writer and local resident.

Dame Jacqueline Wilson will be holding a reading and book signing session at Surbiton Library Hall on Thursday 5 April from 2-4pm, followed by a further book signing session from 4.00pm - 5.30 pm.

Dame Jacqueline will be reading from her books ‘Hetty Feather’ and ‘Sapphire Battersea’. Both books are set in Victorian times and Dame Jacqueline’s session ties in with ‘Cityread London’, the London Libraries celebration of the bicentenary of Charles Dickens’ birth. Dame Jacqueline will also be reading excerpts from her latest book ‘The Worst Thing About My Sister’.

The event is free and tickets for Dame Jacqueline’s appearance will be available to personal callers only from 9.30 am on Saturday 17 March at Surbiton Library, Ewell Road, Surbiton. Tickets are limited to four per person and available to library members only on the production of a library membership card. One proof of address is required to join the library.
