Following its hit Sex, Love and Stalkers shows last year, Kingston Musical Theatre returns to the cornerHOUSE with Sex, Love and Dumping - a collection of new and quirky musical theatre songs.
"Now with the bug of discovering exciting new songs from new songwriters from the UK and US, we have managed to put together a brand new collection of numbers to create another show, Sex, Love and Dumping," said producer Dean Robertson.
Robertson said he and musical director Nic Luker set up KMT in 2010 in order to put on Jason Robert Brown’s 13 the Musical as a community project in the local area.
"After selling out three nights, we followed through with Sex, Love and Stalkers – a showcase of talented contemporary musical theatre songwriters, many of whom are still relatively unknown in mainstream musical theatre," he explained.
"With the help of vocal coach Keesha McLean, we stalked the internet in search of songs: the funny, the sad, the straight, the gay, the heart-breaking and the – well frankly – weird. Our intention was to find something in our selection for everyone.
"Due to popular demand, we brought the show Sex, Loves and Stalkers Again back last November to more incredible feedback."
Robertson said the new show features Hello from the Book of Mormon, Like Breathing from Edges: a Song Cycle, I’ll Be Here and Favorite Places from the musical Ordinary Days - as well as songs by Kooman and Dimond, Carner and Gregor, and Dougal Irvine.
The show contains adult themes – sex, love, relationships, and fetishes so is only recommended for those aged 14+
