Come along to the cornerHOUSE on Saturday, April 13 for a gala evening of photographs on the subject of Richmond.
The photographs were taken on outings to various landmarks and sites in the borough by members of the Active Environment Group – a branch of the Environment Trust for Richmond upon Thames.
The group supports people with disabilities to access the local landscape.
"Last year people visited Kew Gardens, Isabella Plantation, London Wetlands, Bushy Park, Ham Riverside, and went skiffing at the Ditton Skiffing and Punting Club," said programme coordinator for the Active Environment Nicky Newberry. "Each walk is led by an experienced guide to enable our walkers to learn about the local environment.
"People took pictures that interested them along the way, and we have a selection of photos from all the places mentioned.
"Some of the photos are of the different group members and some are of local flora and fauna. There will be about 60 photos on display."
Enjoy the photographs and talk to members of the group and hear what inspired them at the event which runs at the Douglas Road arts centre from 5-7pm.
If anyone with a disability is interested in knowing more about its walks or activities contact Nicky Newberry 020 88915455 or email her at nicky.newberry@environmenttrust.co.uk. Although the group is based in Richmond, it welcomes walkers with disabilities from neighbouring boroughs.
The show runs from Monday, April 1 until Saturday, May 4. Walks In The Richmond Area is available to view during cornerHOUSE shows and events. See the Coming Soon page on this website.
