Sleep Easy 2014

Sleep Easy is a national YMCA fundraising event, which invites people to ‘sleep rough so others don’t have to’.
Join us on Saturday 25th January 2014!

Sleep Easy 2014 will be YMCA London South West’s fifth Sleep Easy event and it promises to be the biggest yet. Two sleep-outs will take place simultaneously in Kingston Memorial Gardens and at the Holy Trinity Church in Wimbledon, and up to 250 people will show they care about homelessness issues, raise awareness and funds for vulnerable people in their local community.

The event starts at 7pm on the Saturday and finishes with breakfast at 6am on the Sunday morning. There will be entertainment, games and a shelter building competition. Both venues will have adjacent facilities where you can warm up if necessary.

The event is only £10 for adults and £5 for under 18's. For this participants get their own Sleep Easy beanie hat, hot drinks, soup and breakfast. All the money participants raise will go towards helping homeless people.

The events are run in partnership with Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH), Everyday Church and Faith in Action and sponsored by Parkside Hospital and Cancer Centre London.

YMCA London South West is a local charity that is part of the national YMCA movement. It is the largest provider for supported housing for the homeless in South West London, housing over 500 people each year - people who otherwise would be sleeping rough or ‘sofa surfing’. Once referred to us, we give them a warm bed, a hot meal and the support they need to move forward with their lives.
