This term Kingston Junior Drama Company have taken on the ambitious task of staging Christina Rossetti’s famous narrative poem, Goblin Market.
Written in 1859, Goblin Market tells of the adventures of two sisters, Laura and Lizzie, with the river goblins. It is a poem about temptation, redemption and sisterly solidarity.
The performance has been built entirely from Rossetti’s original verse, using her irregular rhyming scheme to dramatic effect.
