Kingston’s adult education services could be broken up and moved to several different locations across the borough in a £1.5m scheme.
Kingston Council has drawn up plans to relocate all services at North Kingston Centre in Richmond Road before a new free school opens at the site in September 2015. The plan includes moving the adult education headquarters to the King Charles Centre in Surbiton, and holding courses at the Beaconsfield Centre in New Malden. Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport could also move to New Malden while the pupil referral unit and history and archive services would go to the Duke Centre in Dukes Avenue, Kingston. The council has asked the government’s Education Funding Agency to pay for the scheme.
