Roadworks in Kingston which have caused misery for commuters over the last week will not be completed until Sunday, Kingston Council has said.
Temporary traffic lights at College Roundabout have caused tailbacks along Penrhyn Road and through the one-way system as water pipes are installed at the new 1 Penrhyn Road student flats development. The work was due to finish tomorrow. Kingston Council said today the work would continue until Sunday night, June 8, with new diversions in place to get rid of temporary lights at the roundabout.
Penrhyn Road will be one way towards Surbiton between College Roundabout and Denmark Road. Kingston-bound traffic will be diverted via Surbiton Road, Portsmouth Road, High Street and Kingston Hall Road. St James Road will also be fully reopened.
