Last Monday evening 7 lovely people brought 7 lovely cakes to the fantastically friendly Ram pub in Surbiton, where we caused quite a cakey stir!

We knew the staff at the Ram were cake people when we arrived to find them tucking in to a huge chocolate cake behind the bar that someone had given to them! They looked after us really well and had put aside tables for us outside by the river, but sadly the good old weather drove us inside for fear of soggy cake and windswept members. Placed right by the bar, we could virtually hear people around us salivating at the beautiful spread of cakes – we proved to be a fantastic advert for the club, telling various interested (and envious) people all about CCC. ‘So it’s a club?’ they said ‘and you meet and eat cake? really?’ they said,’ ‘oh yes’, we replied, as we tucked into another slice!
