Commuters will be forking out more money to travel as train fares will increase by 2.3 per cent next year.
South West Trains confirmed a rise in cost from January 2, 2015, keeping in line with the government's separate announcement in Wednesday's Autumn Statement season tickets and other fares will rise by 2.5 per cent. A single journey at peak time from Weybridge to Waterloo will move from £7.80 to £7.90.
A yearly season ticket from Surbiton to Waterloo will increase from £1,760 to £1,800
The cost of a single journey will rise by an average of 9.5p, the lowest increase for five years, with the overall average price increase across the UK in 2015 will be 2.2 per cent. New fares are now available to check and buy online.
