A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following a fight on a train.
Police are appealing for witnesses after Musse Tahill Warsame Warsame, was found unconscious at Raynes Park station on the 1.16pm Waterloo to Chessington service on Saturday, March 2. He was taken to St George’s Hospital but died yesterday. Detectives from the British Transport Police’s major investigations unit believe he was involved in a fight on a separate journey, less than an hour earlier, between Wimbledon and Raynes Park on the 12.24pm Hampton Court to Waterloo service.
The 24-year-old, known to friends and family as ‘Sammy’, was originally from Kingston and had been recently staying in Surbiton.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out at 1pm today to formally establish the cause of Mr Warsame’s death.
