Douglas Road
The road to stardom can be a bumpy one, especially if it’s the movie industry that you want to crack.
Kingston Musical Theatre’s show No One in the World is about a group of young aspiring actors who want to make it big on Broadway. But can the Big Apple give the wannabe performers the fame and fortune that they so desperately want? Either way, the journey to Broadway is not as simple as they might expect. Lined across the stage of No One in the World are 15 director chairs, each with a different role written on them.
However, there is only one star chair. Those who don’t make the cut will have the unfortunate task of choosing another role, such as: porn star, housewife, accountant and nun. This show follows the amateur actors on their paths to success and failure, and of course, all of the many places in between. Described as a touching, hilarious and at times gritty show, No One in the World is an entertaining insight into the aspirations of young people.
The show will be at the cornerHOUSE in Surbiton on July 11, 12 and 13. Tickets are still available and cost £12. They can be purchased at www.ticketsource.co.uk/kmt
