Five people, including a young boy, escaped unhurt from a fire in Berrylands last night.
Surbiton firefighters were called to a house fire in Raeburn Avenue at 10.18pm on Sunday. Crews from New Malden and Kingston, plus a Twickenham command unit, were also called.
Four women and a boy had escaped the flames before firefighters arrived, Surbiton white watch manager Anthony Spencer said. The fire was under control in about five minutes, and no one was injured, he added.
The fire started in the bathroom of the semi-detached house, and damaged five percent of the first floor.
