Surbiton businesses are preparing themselves for a 'horrible' couple of months as road works get underway in Victoria Road, next week.
Over the next ten weeks improvement work is being carried out along the road, which will see the pavements being widened and bus stops lengthened to provide more space for pedestrians, better access to shops and to improve traffic flow through Surbiton.
As a result, the road - between the station and St Andrew's Road - is to become one way, as traffic will be re-routed via St James' Road and St Philip's Road.
Businesses are hoping that the end result will be worth it, as they get ready for more than two months worth of noise and traffic.
A temporary bus stop has been erected at the bottom of St Mark's Hill, as the two stops nearest the station will be affected.
The work is being carried out on behalf of Kingston Council.

10 weeks to carry out all the work? Let's double it then. At least.
