Childhood sweethearts aim to win beach wedding

Childhood sweethearts are bidding to become the first British couple to get married on a beach at a nationwide television competition.

Danielle Cassie and Daniel Sexton will appear on ITV’s Daybreak hoping to win the chance to tie the knot in front of friends and family on Bournemouth beach having dated 28 years ago. The pair went to St Joseph’s Primary School and Holyfield, both in Surbiton, but only rekindled their romance two years ago after meeting again at a funeral. The couple then got engaged after a specially arranged tour of their old school on Valentine’s Day and Mr Sexton now lives with Miss Cassie and her six-year-old daughter in Catherine Road, Surbiton.

They will appear on the early morning Daybreak feature Here Comes the Tide today, with the winner announced on Friday (April 20).
