Police appealing after Surbiton teen is robbed on way home

Police are appealing for information after a Surbiton teenager was robbed as he was making his way home last month.

The 18-year-old man was walking along Fleece Road, in Long Ditton, at 11.45pm on Wednesday, July 27, when he was approached by two hooded youths.

They ran up behind him and threatened him into handing over his wallet, which contained £40 in cash, and his black and grey Samsung mobile phone, when they took out of his trouser pockets. They also took a set of headphones which were hanging around his neck.

After robbing him, they fled the scene on foot.

Both suspects are described as being white men, around 17-years-old, 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and wearing black Adidas hoodies.

PC Stephen Richardson of Elmbridge police is leading the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information should call Surrey police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference EL/11/5857 or alternatively by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
