A pub in Surbiton will close next week for an extensive refurbishment, reopening with an all-new look – and an old name.
The New Prince, in Ewell Road, will hold a closing down party on Saturday before shutting on Monday, May 19, for approximately three weeks. It will re-open as The Prince of Wales – the pub’s original name before it was taken over by the Fuller’s brewery more than a decade ago. Once finished, the pub will feature wood floors, a revamped bar area and professional kitchen, serving food all day.
Sport will still be televised - and the pub's first day of trading on June 12 will coincide with the start of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Plans to revamp the pub's secret garden with an outside bar have also been earmarked for the future.
The New Prince's closing down party will start at about 8.30pm on Saturday, March 17.
