Tribute to 'character and a half' graffiti artist

Family and friends will remember Dean Roberts at his funeral on Monday.

A man who lost his brother has paid tribute to his fun-loving sibling and called him “a character and a half”. Dean Roberts died with friends and family present at St George’s Hospital in Tooting on Wednesday, October 10, at the age of 28, after a three-year battle with cancer. He moved to Kingston as a youngster with his family and attended Tolworth Junior School and later Hollyfield School in Surbiton. Mr Roberts enjoyed street art and was a keen graffiti artist who went by the name of Neast. He also enjoyed rollerblading and had been on some television programmes when he was younger. His brother Aaron Perry said: “He had a way of making everyone laugh. We will never forget him.

A Facebook memorial page received more than 200 likes in less than 24 hours after his death. He had also been incredibly happy with his girlfriend of 11 months, Jodie Duncan, who he hoped to propose to in coming months. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 22, at St Luke’s Church in Gibbon Road, Kingston, from 1pm.
