Tesco has redesigned parts of its plan for a massive Tolworth development in a move it hopes will allow councillors to scrutinise the scheme.
The supermarket chain, which owns the former Government land next to Charrington Bowl, has asked Kingston Council for permission to build some 700 homes there, after more than a decade of wrangling. Long-time residents had mixed reactions when inital designs were shown off last autumn. Many complained the scheme represents over-development.
