Council appeals for public money for Clock Tower

£100,000 needed for centenary restoration.

It's sorry state was discussed at this month's Surbiton neighbourhood committee meeting, when it was decided that as well as work being done by councillors and council officers, the public should also be invited to take part in the project.

Money for repairs to the Grade II listed building could be forthcoming from English Heritage, Kingston Council and planning gain from the recent approval of an extension to Nuffield House.

Would much rather walk into surbiton and have a view of the clocktower than the public toilets behind it.
