From 5 December 2015, drivers can park for 30 minutes free of charge at allocated pay and display bays near Kingston borough town centres, including at these main roads and adjoining streets.
Look out for stickers on the pay and display machines and lampposts in the immediate vicinity of the bays to check that they are valid for 30 minutes free parking. Drivers receive a single free 30 minute parking session per vehicle per day.
Parking for longer than the free 30 minute period will require a payment to cover the new period the driver intends to stay, at the stated tariff and subject to conditions shown on the signs and pay and display machines.
If you want to park in Kingston, Norbiton or Subiton you may have to pay for short-term parking during certain hours unless you have a parking permit. Many streets in these areas are in a controlled parking zone and have parking controls. Outside the days or hours of parking restrictions, you can park for free.
In all other areas of the borough, including New Malden, Old Malden and Tolworth, you may be charged for parking on a main road during certain hours, but you will be able to park for free on a nearby street. Streets in these areas are not in a controlled parking zone.
