Safer Neighbourhoods Team to investigate antisocial behaviour in School Lane

Allegations of late night noise and drug dealing to prompt police questioning.

Councillor Paul Johnston says he's convinced it's mainly outsiders, 'People are coming from elsewhere to hang out in the sheltered stairwells of the maisonettes because they have nothing else to do.'

In November, The Surbiton Hill Safer Neighbourhoods Team is planning a week of action when they'll speak to residents and try to get to the cause of the problems.

Kingston Police Chief Inspector Tim Pointer said, 'Often people are not aware they are upsetting others and it could well be that they do not mean to cause any harm.'
