Businesses and residents from across the borough will offer freshly baked homemade cakes and mugs of steaming coffee as part of nationwide initiative to raise money for charity.
Coffee mornings will take place on Friday, September 30, as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity dedicated to helping cancer patients. Kingston MP James Berry and deputy mayor Cllr Rowena Bass will join the Alpha Road Community Group for a cuppa at Charles Summer House, in Hobill Walk, Surbiton.
Marks and Spencer will host a coffee morning at its store in Eden Street and has also been donating 5p from every cup of coffee sold throughout September. It is the seventh year the store has raised funds for Macmillan.
