Cut-price supermarket chain Lidl has been granted permission to build a £70m UK headquarters in Tolworth – a move which it says will bring up to 5,000 new jobs to London.

New jobs expected to be created through Lidl’s plans to relocate its headquarters to Tolworth in a four storey landmark building were largely welcomed during a one-day consultation event this week.
Cut-price supermarket chain Lidl has agreed a £10m deal with Kingston Council to move its UK headquarters to Tolworth and its chief executive has promised "new jobs for local people".
