City Hall has given the green light to cut-price supermarket chain Lidl's plans to build a £70m headquarters in Tolworth.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, approved the plans on Monday for the the German-based company to build a 240,000 ft² base at the former site of the Hook Venturer Sports Club, in Jubilee Way. The proposals had been unanimously agreed by Kingston Council’s development control committee on December 15.
The move is expected to bring 5,000 jobs to the area. The company had said in December it hopes to begin works on the site this year.
