I think this is a good opticians


Very disappointed of their service. I needed a pair of glasses asap, and I was researching all the optician shops in Surbiton in order to find the quickest service. I had an appointment booked for the next day (Saturday), and informed that if I had a contact lens test as well I would be able to walk out the next day wearing contact lenses- which sounded odd as I suffer form high astigmatism and I am shortsighted as well and I know I need special lenses, but I was reassured that this is the case.) However, the members of staff did not seem to care about my contact lens fitting procedure when I had my appointment, and they told me that I will have my contacts along with my glasses which would be ready on Thursday morning. I then asked them if it was possible to have the glasses any sooner as I didn't have any spare pair. Then they promised me that I could have my glasses by Wednesday morning, then they informed me of the bill, without any breakdown. As was not contacted on Wednesday, I called the shop on Thursday morning to ask them if my glasses are ready. They told me that they have them, but the technician is not in so they lenses could not be fitted in the frame, and I should come in the evening. As I work in the evenings, it was impossible for me to collect them on the day, and the receptionist asked if its all right with me to meet them after work at her gym(!) to get my glasses. By that point I was so frustrated of being without a vision for a week, that I accepted, although I thought that this was very unprofessional. Of course when I arrived at the gym no one at the reception was informed, so I had to leave empty-handed one more time. That was 6 days from Saturday without clear vision, (that I was promised to leave with contact lenses). I got my glasses on Friday morning that was 2 days later than promised. When I told them that their service was very poor and I should get a compensation for the inconvenience they caused me, they said there is nothing they can do about it! To conclude, I felt that I was misinformed in order for the shop to do the sale and book the appointment. The only reason that I give them two stars instead of one, is because i think the optometrist that did the glasses eye check, was very professional and efficient.
