I am a regular user of M&S products so I visit the shop frequently. But it’s true that they should have a big shop. After all many people like their products so there is crowd always. The location is convenient for me …just need a bigger space!

They open later than the other supermarkets, which is great for those of us who work late.

The queues are no worse than Waitrose or Sainsbury's. Name me a supermarket that at some point you aren't waiting ages to get served. At least they recognise it when it does get busy and draft in more people to the tills.

If you don't like the place, don't shop there. Although I suspect a lot of the people who claim they don't, still do, as it's convenient.

Agree with one of the earlier posters, re-locate to the old Woolie's store. It will be bigger and better - bring it on!

This is really a very poor outlet aimed at the "cant cook wont cook" residents who blinded by lifestyle choices featured in OK and Hello, have never learned to cook from fresh ingredients.

Pick up a few items from the Waitrose deli, employ a Wok or other pan, toss a little salad and you have a delicious meal which is probably additive free cheaper, faster and more nutritious than a meagre portioned ready meal.

Your not the only one who wants to ‘pop’ in there QUICK “after a long day”

It doesn’t take much to please the likes of you. Maybe that’s why Britain’s in such a crippled state

The shop is run by a lazy manager and his lazy staff who constantly keep disappearing behind that door in the corner whilst the shelves are empty and only respond to the ‘call for help’ bell when its been rung half a dozen times and the queue hits the back of the shop

Move this useless store to the old Woolworths site by all means, but do it with a new management team that have some flare for what a busy local shopper needs, not the same old ‘tat’ that they keep displaying ‘day after day’

I suggest you pop over the road to Pappa Johns Pizza house, that’s clearly, from your post, ‘right up your street’

Never been to Pappa Johns, and don't intend to in the future. You obviously eat there regularly to recommend it.

- How do you know what it takes to please me? You don't!

If you have such a problem then by all means complain to M&S direct, and stop shopping there. You're the sort of person who moans and complains because it's the easy option. Try pulling your finger out and make a constructive complaint. That's what I do when aggrieved and in more cases than not, something gets done.

Bad report in Tuesdays (3/3/08) Evening Standard. Reporter suggests the avg age is over 45 and therefore also needs to focus on the younger shopper. He also went on to say that Paul Rose should either sell or shut down Simply Food altogether. I agree, it isn’t working. Same boring stuff over and over again

Close them all down!

I love M&S but I agree that it's too small a shop. I agree with the congestion problems. It feels very crowded in there - especially up front with the tills, bakery, and trolleys. Maybe they should move down the road to the old Woolies site.

I often find that they're a bit low on veg sometimes too.

Its many years since I have visited an M&S branch, well before Mr Rose took over in fact.

I did think i might take a view in the Simply Food in Surbiton but saw the shambles around the checkout and went to my favourite Waitrose instead,is it simply that WR are all partners and have an interest in the business or are M&S just losing the plot with their expensive and small portioned ready meals and complete disregard for paying customers?

And the bottle to charge 5p for a carrier bag when youve just spent well over the odds

And NO, I dont carry a plastic bag in my back pocket everywhere I go

Crikey,I had no idea they charge for plastic bags,I too never secrete any plastic bags about my person just in case I might fancy buying some delicacy.

I have always thought that I was the only one who stopped going to M&S after they introduced a charge for bags, but I'm gradually fining loads of people have done the same. It must have cost them milions accross the country in lost sales. I guess they'll find it difficult to go back on this decision and return to free bags now - they're stuffed unless a government makes the charge compulsary.

They might as well shut this store down. Same boring stuff over and over again with the typical, buy 'one get one half price', I dont want one half price, just make the first one cheaper!

Congested exit and payment area make this store the most unattractive to shop in and with Waitrose just nearby why would anyone want to?
