Certainly one of the better Italians around and about. A family-run trattatoria typical of back streets of Naples. Service great. As mentioned in other threads they really don't forget a face and are very welcoming. Saturday nights it's usually rammed and reservations are necessary. Great pizzas and sea-bass.
The only thing - a slight negative is they allow the 15min Saturday night intrusive invasion of the Rumanian wandering musicians singing and playing loudly, and not particularly well, before passing the hat round.
We have been coming here for years. Emilio and Cleo are fantastic hosts and really look after you. The food is authentic and always delicious and they are more than happy to spice up dishes to suit your palate!! We love it and will always be loyal customers!
I lived across the road from this resturant for over a year and found coming home picking up take away vegetarianana with chilli oil and funghi farchiti to recover from 2 hours teaching in a hot room recently went back felt like family enough they remembered what i had 2 years later meant alot
I too live perhaps 15mins walk away and it's taken me 8 years to finally walk through their door.
Yes, a very special place indeed.
I went there a few months ago and was so knocked out by the quality of the food we booked NYE on the spot.
Look out for the special's board which they'll usually bring round.
1st time we were there there seemed to be an endless string of Itralian's coming in collecting their pre-ordered pizzas. Someone else said they're the best in town.
Try it out
The greeting and service I received at the restaurant was cool and not particularly welcoming despite the restaurant appearing cheerful and warm from outside ..... and these are the owners! The menu is nice enough though of the typical everyday italian restaurant variety. The meatball bolognese I ordered was a bland disappointment. The service was not great at all. The staff were All more interested in their conversations than attending to their customers and I practically had to get up from my table and beg for someone to attend to my table. The restaurant had hardly any patrons that evening. Been there twice and had the same experience. Great location but needs so much more attention on the hospitality and the food. There are other nicer Italian restaurants in central Surbiton.

Best Italian around as far as we are concerned, really friendly welcoming staff who don't seem to forget a face. Great pizza and varied menu too, including a lovely salmon dish with seasonal veg on the side, specials also available.......and you just must ask for the special cappuccino!
We love Positano, Emilio and his team always make us very welcome and I can totally recommend the homemade spinach and ricotta ravioli from the specials board!
Distinctly average backstreet Italian. Surbiton has plenty of Italian restaurants and most are far better than this place. Not worth going out of your way for, although the pizzas are OK.

Great potential but what a let down

Just OK, service lacking and pizza served warm when not busy. It does have some charm, but better places for pizza.

This place is whacky! With the odd choice in music and the circa 1989 decor it is an aquired taste but the pizza is very good and so is the pasta!

Best italian in London!
Great food, great service.
Highly recommended.

I used to use it all the time until I moved too far away to be convenient. Great food, friendly staff and the best pizzas in Surbiton.
