I think that this place is great - really different from anything else in Surbiton or the surrounding area. It attracts a nice mixed crowd, and the drink selection is great. The downstairs area is great for relaxing as it is not as loud as upstairs.
I agree with the previous post about 'Maple Village', though. For me the Maple Road area is the nicest part of Surbiton, and a great place to live, but it is nothing like a village!

I agree with the previous post about 'Maple Village', though. For me the Maple Road area is the nicest part of Surbiton, and a great place to live, but it is nothing like a village!
I used to live in a cul de sac of cottages near Maple Road and had to move out a few years ago when "Maple Village" was coined.
Now a place to avoid at all costs as full of odd folks,by labelling the Rubicon as "Trendy" will ensure that I will never cross it.
