Today at 4:30 at The Regency Bookshop on surbiton High Street local author and counsellor Lynn crilly will be holding a small book launch to acknowledge the fact the book is officially available. With Lynn will be one of the books many well-known contributors Mr Bobby Davro.

“Carers of eating disorder sufferers often feel desperate, lonely, isolated and confused. I know this because I was one”.

When one of my beautiful twin daughters was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa, I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of support and understanding available; not just for my daughter, but for me, her sister, father and all the other wonderful people who loved and cared for her.

Thankfully, my daughter is now healthy and happy again, and our family unit is restored. However there were times when things seemed hopeless, and we didn’t know which way to turn – I have learnt a huge amount since then, both through my own daughter’s illness and subsequently as an eating disorder counsellor. I realised how much my knowledge and first-hand experience could help other individuals and families facing the same challenges as we did.

I had no agenda when writing Hope with Eating Disorders. It is an open and honest discussion about Eating Disorders in all their guises - giving you, the carer:

A genuine understanding into the mind-set of someone suffering with an Eating Disorder
Insight and advice on signs and symptoms that could help you recognise the onset of an Eating Disorder
Unbiased guidance through the confusing and, at times, conflicting treatments available through the NHS and private sector
First hand experiences from over 200 carers, sufferers and experts
Proof that Eating Disorders can affect anyone regardless of age, race, gender or social background

Most crucially, however, 'Hope with Eating Disorders' is uniquely optimistic. It sends the message that full and lasting recovery from an Eating Disorder is possible, and offers understanding and hope to carers who are so often over-looked.

Endorsements of the book:
