A special event which raises awareness about autism is to be held at the cornerHOUSE in April. The comedy fundraiser on Friday, April 19 at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Surbiton, will feature a one-man show by John Williams.

My Son's Not Rainman is directed by Anna Crilly. It is about a 41-year-old comedian who is a single dad. His son is 10 years old and autistic. He isn't a genius. This is their true story. Come and see this funny and heart-warming show before it goes on to the Edinburgh festival in the summer.
John is supported by Tom Deacon, who has a comedy programme on Radio 1. Tom is one of Britain's finest young comics. Winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award, he has also appeared on Dave's One Night Stand and the Rob Brydon Show.

Comedian Sion James will be MCing the event.

All proceeds will go to Surbiton-based Express CIC which is creating a hub in the heart of the community supporting young people with autism and their families.
