Suspense, terror and a dash of humour come together in a production of The Hound of the Baskervilles at the cornerHOUSE in November.
Upstage Theatre Company brings Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic thriller to the Surbiton arts centre from Thursday, November 14 to Saturday, November 16 at 8pm.
The Hound of the Baskervilles sees Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson in one of their most spine-chilling cases. The sleuthing duo travel to Baskerville Hall, an ancestral house located in the bleak isolation of Dartmoor, to try to stop Sir Henry, heir to the Baskerville fortune, falling prey to the family curse - The Hound - a terrifying beast believed to have killed Sir Hugo and Sir Charles before him. Suspicion falls upon many, and an escaped convict complicates matters, as Holmes and Watson, try to save Sir Henry from the fate of his predecessors.
While the Hound howls and strange lights signal across the moor, can the pair solve this seemingly ‘supernatural’ mystery with only facts and deduction to guide them? “Elementary, my dear Watson,” as Holmes would say!
The production at the arts centre in Douglas Road is suitable for all ages.
