A day of festivities will start when HRH The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, unveils a plaque to mark the centenary of the restored Coronation Clock Tower in Claremont Road.

To celebrate the royal visit to Surbiton, the Friends of the Coronation Clock Tower and Kingston Council have organised a community celebration with dancing, music and performance from nine local schools, professional bands and an Edwardian picnic in the adjacent Claremont Gardens.

The Friends of the Coronation Clock Tower were formed in 2007 by local residents, businesses and organisations, to help raise the £110,000 required for the restoration and fund on-going maintenance costs that will ensure the important local landmark can be preserved for future generations.
