Looking for historical info about Electric Parade

I'm trying to find out more about my great-great-uncle William Anthony Mathew who lived in Surbiton. He owned a fashion store called (The) Paris House, 1-2 Electric Parade, Brighton Road in the early 1900s along with his wife Mary Kate and his brother Edward. I believe this is now numbers 27-28ish, Brighton Road. William died in 1905 at the age of 42. According to family folklore he committed suicide after the store was destroyed by fire. I've found record of Paris House and record of his death, but I can't find anything about this apparent fire or the cause of his death.
