Station cars is one of the worst car drop services I have encountered. I booked a drop Surbiton to Gatwick Airport and had a 1.5 year infant travelling with me. Firstly the driver did not arrive on time. Then when I called up the services, the manager instead of placating me, (because I was obviously running late) tried to blame the delay on the driver who did not have a baby car seat and had to rush to arrange for one. His tone was far from friendly, very rude infact, made me feel like that because I requested a baby seat, I better put up with this! The driver having finally arrived 15 minutes late, I find out that the baby car seat belt had a faulty lock and could not be fastened. So after having tried to secure the lock in vain for I finally had to settle with holding the baby which is ideally against the law. I had no time to arrange for another cab. But I would not recommend using their services.

You can use one of the best local company they are good in airports and price is not to bad Heathrow £ 24 and Patrick £35. Call them 02083997755 www.surbitotowncars.co.uk

I would say Surbiton Taxis. We travelled to Gatwick using their estate car option as we are a family of 4 and it cost £39. £45 for the return. The saloon would have been £34. They were cheaper than Mogul.

I wouldn't touch station cars with a barge pole. I booked them to pick up my parents from the airport a while back - gave them the flight number and had to explain repeatedly that I wanted them to pick up FROM the airport, not take me TO the airport. They never showed up. On calling them, they thought that the flight arrived in the evening (despite having the flight number). They then said that they had a car already at the airport who could collect them. This was a lie - the driver phoned my folks to say he was 'on his way'. "On your way from where?". "Surbiton" was the reply.

Yep, they are rubbish on airport pickups which sould really be their bread and butter.

I've used sation cars for airport runs twice...never again!!

The first time the driver fell asleep at the wheel on the way home from Heathrow, it was an early morning an he must have been working all night. The second time (I though I'd give them another chance!) the driver kept cutting people up at roundabouts and got lost on the way home from Gatwick - and he had a satnav!! Awful drivers, would never use them again.

Used green leaf taxis a while ago and were really friendly! (and no, I don't work for them!)

Station cars, at the Surbiton station (Glenbuck road side)

Only go with Station Cars if you wanted to be insulted and badly treated - oh and told it costs more when they drop you off than when you booked it by the driver

Been using Station cars for years and have never had any issues with them.

Methinks you work for another cab firm?

I agree they are rude!

I live in Glenbuck Court, the drivers stand outside all night playing music and chating at full volume. I rang them to ask them to turn the music down and they hung up on me, I've even been over there at 2am and asked themt o turn the music down as I couldn't sleep the reply? 'So what?'. They are a very rude bunch.

Why is it every time someone posts a truthful response, even if it is negative they get accused of lying or working for a rival?
No I don’t work for a cab company – I work in central London.
As the cab drove off we also noticed one driver reliving himself up against the wall.
When I said the price I was quoted I was called a stupid white girl... Classy

I’ll never use them again!

We used Greenleaf, not only were they the most economical, but they drive Eco Friendly/Green cars.
The driver on the way out to Gatwaick was extremely polite and helpful, given it was 4am, I thought this was fantastic.

The pick up driver was less pleasant and had a bit of an attitude, he seemed concerned with dropping my fellow partner literally 400yards down the road. On speaking to his manager, he was told to get on with it...

Anyway, I've used them a few times and found them great.

Not used Greenleaf(thought they were an estate agent) but always find Mogul works for LGW or LHR.

Greenleaf have been absorbed into 'Broccoli Cars' and are definitely my choice for airport pick ups. It is about £40 from Gatwick in the middle of the night, so probably a fair bit cheaper during the day.

I always used to use Station Cars, but have been let down too many times at the airports. I still use them for local trips around the area in preference to black cabs, but will never use them for anything further afield.

I used them once to get from Surbiton to St. Pancras International because I had to get an early morning train to Brussels and there was no train from Surbiton station. The idiot taxi driver had no idea how to get there even though he had a satnav - I had to direct him from the back seat. We got stuck in traffic and if it wasn't for me telling him to look for an alternative route (which I had to find on my iPhone), I'd still be stuck there. I still missed my Brussels train. Never again in a trillion years would I use them.
