Claremont Hall

An update on what I have found out about Claremont Hall, I know there had been speculation as to its use.

To recap this hall was one of the few premises that still had an intact impressive historic interior as can be seen at the following website.

It has now been turned into a commercial nursery, I have attached the link that provides further details of the development.

Oh crikey yet more yummy mummy X5's in Waitrose car park

Wait until you have a little sprog or two - you will be very happy to have more nursery places walking distance from the station!

Not ideal, but certainly better than it being knocked for more crappy flats.

I agree, any more flats would be a nightmare in that location. Worse still, they were talking about turning it to individual rooms for scummy students.

Provided that they don't carve the interior too much, I think that this proposal is a good idea - it will preserve it as a hall for future generations, and shouldn't have too much effect on the parts of Surbiton's infrastructure that are at their most overstretched - the trains in the morning and the bars/restaurants in the evening.

A few more X5s on the road is a small price to pay compared to what could have been.

RBK planners have already refused the application for lawful development.
