Conveyancing solicitor recommendations in Surbiton

Hi,
Does anyone have any good experiences of using a local solicitor for conveyancing. Need to find someone who is on the ball and works quickly.
Any to avoid also good to know.

Has anyone used Woodford Stauffer? Opinions?

Mattc - did you find a decent conveyancing solicitor? I'm looking for one so if you had success in finding one, can you let me know. Thanks

My sale has just gone through. There were three firms in the chain. Palmers, Hill Johnson and Colemans.
Palmers seemed efficient, Colemans (who I'd commissioned) were also very efficient but fairly expensive. Hill Johnson provided the most frustrating experience in the chain as they were (in my personal opinion) very poor at providing feedback and timeframes to their client and the estate agents, they also appeared to have no desire to push things through and lacked collaboration. Of course this doesn't mean they weren't thorough, just difficult to work with if you are keen to move quickly.

Don 't go anywhere near Brett Holt. I use Richard Cahill of Cahill de Fonsecka, Wimbledon. A young guy who really wants to work, doesn't overcharge and makes a refreshing change.

try Hill Johnson on Victoria Road

I've heard Hill Johnson are pretty unhelpful

I Have used them for 20 years and disagree totally - They look after you and will not make you rush if it is not in your best interest - and NO i don't work for them
