Photo: Mural at Surbiton Station

I had a vague recollection of a mural being at Surbiton Station. I thought it was on the wall in the booking hall above what is now the entrance to Oddbins. Anyway, I looked around the internet and couldn't find anything relating to that wall, but I did find a photo of a mural by Graeme Willson, called 'Passengers' on the opposite wall. It was painted 1984-85. Thought people might like to have a look:

I remember there was a mural of mice characters painted on the inside of the footbridge at Surbiton Station in the 80s.

They were lovely paintings. I remember them from my childhood and sad to see them disappear

How sad. Not my words need to be said. Thank you for your post.

Just came across this, looks amazing. Be good to have it replaced!

Thank you so much for paying this link. I am from Surbiton and was very sad to see the mural painted over as I had not taken a photo of it. Until now, I have not been able to find a picture of it on the Internet. The man looking over the balcony is a look alike of my dad commuting in the 70s/80s. Many thanks again!

Thanks, that's me with the red hair on the stairs. I used to go to Surbiton to visit my sister. I was disappointed when that mural was painted over as I'd never got around to taking a photo. I now have your photo saved on my laptop.

Wow, great find. I'd forgotten all about that mural. I was sad when it got painted over, I used to love it
