Traditional Irish Music Jam?

Hello,
Im Irish and live in surbiton. I am thinking about putting together a Traditional Irish music Jam, in a pub in Surbiton. I was musical in my younger years, but only played piano. I would love to start something up, and possibly pick up an instrument too! ( will need some direction there ) I am 36 and have just had my first baby, so think im feeling a bit of a longing for The Home Land! Anyway, just thought i would put it out there. Anyone interested?

Excellent! Yes I am interested.
I am second generation Irish and soaked up plenty of trad music in my youth. I sing and play guitar - my influences are Planxty, Paul Brady, Tim O'Brien to name a few. I started a folk/bluegrass jam a few months ago and have had a number of sessions at The Castle on King Charles Rd.
I haven't managed to find any local musicians though. Please drop me a line mjgfox@gmail.com so that we arrange to meet up. Martin F

Not interested in the band proposition but I can inform that the Mad Hatter (Ewell Rd) often does live Trad Irish jam sessions (or at least used to) on Sat nights.
The last time I dropped in there was about 2 years ago and it was madness - with a band with a child whizz kid on fiddle!

Good luck with band
