Very slow BT Broadband

I am in Berrylands. I am posting to say that BT Broadband is extremely slow in this area because the local exchange is only capable of 1 MB capacity - and you can only expect receive up to about half of that. This is contrary to BT advertising that one can expect up to 20MB.

I am cancelling my BT broadband because of this. Just letting people know!

Hmm... not sure where the figure of 1mb for the exchange came from as I am using the same exchange and getting speeds in excess of 10mb routinely. I am a Sky customer but Sky uses the BT line so all the same restrictions on line, cabling and exchange apply - basically apart from ISP all the technology is the same. Time to change your ISP... or complain a bit more loudly and see if BT will do anything about it. Evidently the exchange CAN deliver much speedier broadband.

Also in Berrylands via AOL and getting 9.8 to 10

I am in Long Ditton and my BT crashes almost every evening.
