Hi all,
Does anyone know anything about the history of Victoria Park?

The cafe in the pavillion is doing a piece about its origins and would like to get groups of older residents of Surbiton interested in the cafe. So far we know it used to have a woodern pavillion until someone burned it down and we think it may have been a cycle track in the 1800s; thats about it.

Also, there seems to be an increasing amount of graffiti and aggressive youths coming into the park and directing their miscreancies at the cafe and its workers. I think its mainly school kids and YMCA dwellers from what we can tell. We are hoping to spruce up the pavillion walls which will hopefully encourage a little respect for it but if anyone has any other ideas....it seems people are happy to just let that corner of Surbiton be.

History of Victorya Park is very wonderful. I have friends that I know stories like this. thanks
