From today Waitrose Surbiton are changing the 'free newspaper' rules. You will have to spend £10 instead of £5. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.... apparently tea and coffee rule stays the same.

I think they have had to do an about turn, or as they say listen to customer feedback, and I think now it's a £10 minimum spend at the weekend and they have reverted to a fiver in the week. Fair do's.
I still think this is a good deal. The Sunday Times costs £2.50, so to be able to go into Waitrose and get it free along with a cup of coffee just for spending £10 on stuff you would have bought anyway seems great to me.
It is not quite such a good deal for the daily papers, but still not bad as long as people don't buy unnecessary stuff just to get up to the £10 limit. I suppose that is what Waitrose want you to do, but I can't imagine that many people actually do.
