Teenage boys admit trying to rob woman with fake gun in Norbiton alleyway on bonfire night

Three teenagers have admitted trying to rob a woman with a fake gun in a Norbiton alleyway on bonfire night.

The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court last month and pleaded guilty to charges in connection to the attempted robbery on November 5.

They had tried to rob a woman in an alleyway off Fleetwood Road, Norbiton. Witnesses later reported seeing a police chase in Porchester Road at about 8pm that night.

A 16-year-old from Hackney has pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, conspiracy to rob and possession of an imitation firearm, which court documents state was a black BB gun. Another 16-year-old from Surbiton has pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm. A charge of conspiracy to rob was withdrawn by crown prosecutors. A 17-year old from Kingston pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, conspiracy to rob and possession of an imitation firearm, which was also said to be a black BB gun.

All three have been bailed to appear back at the same court for sentencing on Wednesday, December 9.
