Commuters have welcomed the news that Network Rail is going to tackle congestion at Surbiton station.
In a report published this week the company named Surbiton as one of 11 stations where action was desperately needed to be taken to reduce overcrowding.
It is proposing to look at each station and identify ways in which congestion can be relieved on the train, on the platform and at the ticket office.
This has been hailed as good news by residents who claim that exiting the station is an arduous daily task. Network Rail has proposed to identify these measures by 2019.
The other London stations being looked at are Clapham Junction, Charing Cross, Fenchurch Street, Victoria and Wimbledon.
