A Surbiton man arrested in connection with an acid attack in Southampton which lead to a national man-hunt has been released without charge.
The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and assisting an offender. He was bailed and has since been released without charge by police. A mother-of-six, 37-year-old Carla Whitlock, was left with severe burn marks after an acid attack outside the Turtle Bay bar in Southampton's Guildhall Square on September 18.
Geoffrey Midmore, 26, of Sheephouse Way, pleaded guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent when he appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, November 16. Younger brother Billy Midmore, 22, also of Sheephouse Way in Old Malden, denied the charge when he appeared in the same court.
He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on February 5.
