Portsmouth Road
The company behind plans to develop floating homes have promised to rethink parts of the proposals.
Hydro Properties wants to build 60 homes, a new lock, a nature reserve and an education centre on the former Thames Water filter beds off Portsmouth Road.
In April, residents were invited to give feedback on the scheme when the plans were displayed at three day exhibitions.
During these exhibitions, residents highlighted concerns about the height of the development and the provision of moorings alongside the Thames and the marina.
The company now say they will take these points into consideration and draw up an amended scheme.
Hydro Properties hopes Surbiton will be the first location in the UK to use new floating technology.
Residents feel strongly that any development on the site should be enhancing the riverside environment, not damaging it.
