A 15-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with leg, back and neck injuries after ploughing his moped into a metal pole outside a playground.
London's Air Ambulance was called to the crash site in Knollmead, near the Sunray Estate, with police cordoning off the area so the helicopter could land. The teenager was taken to a central London hospital with a suspected broken leg and back and neck injuries after the collision, on Saturday afternoon. The moped the boy was riding is said to have ended up in pieces scattered all the way down to the Hogsmill River. People also reported seeing a piece of the bike's visor wedged in the railings of a bridge over the river.
