Two robberies in Surbiton - including one where a woman was threatened at knifepoint - could be linked, detectives believe.
A woman's jewelry was snatched from her inside Balmoral Food and Wine, in Ewell Road, last Sunday afternoon. Two white men entered the shop shortly after 12pm. One stood by the door and the other threatened the woman with a knife, before pushing her to the floor and snatching a 22 carat gold chain from around her neck, as well as one of her earrings. Police said the men were thought to have been aged between 17 and 25.
Later that evening a man was robbed as he stood outside the Thanuska restaurant, also in Ewell Road. The 55-year-old was approached by three men at 11.30pm. One greeted him and, as he looked up, grabbed a gold link chain from around his neck. The three then escaped towards Lenelby Road.
Anyone with information should call Kingston police on 101.
