A man has been jailed for a Kingston “crime spree” which included stealing a car, £1,000 worth of clothes from the Bentalls Centre and vandalising boats at a yacht club.
Alex Lundy, 22, of no fixed address, stole a car from Ravenswood Close, in Kingston Hill on Tuesday, December 1 last year.
Two days later he stole £1,000-worth of clothes from the Bentalls Centre, in Kingston town centre and on Wednesday, December 9, vandalised boats at the London River Yacht Club, in Portsmouth Road, Surbiton.
Lundy was spotted by an off-duty Kingston police officer in Surbiton the next day and was arrested.
He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, one count of aggravated vehicle taking, four counts of criminal damage and one count of shoplifting in December. Lundy was sentenced to four years and 11 months in prison at a sentencing at Kingston Crown Court yesterday.
