A historical society has joined a Surbiton councillor in urging residents to make their voices heard over new street lights in Victoria Road.
The council is currently holding a consultation on which design will replace the existing street lights, with three alternatives shortlisted, none of which resemble the current lights. Councillor Karen George and the Surbiton Historical Society believe the new lights should be in keeping with the style of the area. Councillor George has urged residents to go along to a public consultation at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Surbiton, on October 18, between 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm
.
She said replacing the lights with a similar design would not cost much more money.
